AsiaDiscoversAsiaMeetingforContemporaryPerformance(ADAM)wasfoundedbyTaipeiPerformingArtsCenterin2017.JointlyconceivedwithRiverLin,aTaiwaneseartistandcuratorcurrentlylivingandworkingbetweenFranceandTaiwan,theprojectaimstobuildaresearchandexchangeplatformforcross-culturalandinterdisciplinaryperformanceartintheAsia-Pacificregion.Differentfromothersimilarnetworksandartmarketsthatfocusontransactions,ADAMemphasizesan‘artist-led’conceptandpractice.Itinvitesartiststodisrupttherelationshipsanddialoguesbetweeninstitutionsandartistcommunitiesthroughtheecologicalprocessesofconception,researchanddevelopment,aswellasproduction,andalsoprovidessustenanceandcompanionshiptoartistswhiletheyembarkontheirjourneysincreativeresearchandco-creation.
